About the Oakland Aviation Museum
This amazing aircraft is one of only three of its type remaining in the world today - it was featured in the movie 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark!' It flew for British Overseas Air Company between 1949 and 1951 on the schedule from South Hampton, England to Johannesburg, South Africa. Along the route, it stopped at exotic locations such as Augusta, Sicily, Luxor, Egypt and Lake Victoria in central Africa. This flight was the epitome of luxury travel and the food and accommodations along the way were equally luxurious.
